Your Home
P.A. Peterson Center for Health's Bergmark Villa promotes a real sense of companionship, family and self-worth, as well as independence for our elders who suffer with Alzheimer's or dementia. Bergmark Villa was established in memory of Lucille Bergmark, who was a resident at P.A. Peterson Center for Health for 14 years. Bergmark Villa offers beautifully decorated private and semi-private rooms, with a main dining area that also serves as a multi-function room.
Bergmark Villa is a secure neighborhood at P.A. Peterson. This security allows our elders to stroll safely, retaining personal dignity while maximizing their independence.
Your Partners
Every staff person of the Villa must complete an extensive training course that emphasizes the special physical, social, emotional and dining needs of individuals coping with Alzheimer's and dementia.
Additionally, staff people undergo continuous training to ensure that our elders receive individualized care and love, as well as lifestyle activities and memory stimulation. We certainly understand how difficult this disease process is for the families of our elders. Staff people offer sensitivity to families, embracing them and encouraging them to walk with us to care for their loved one in the best possible way.
Your Family
P.A. Peterson understands the importance of family. We want your loved ones involved, and we welcome them to our events inside and outside Bergmark Villa. You will find a "kid's corner" at Bergmark Villa where we have board games and other activities for families to enjoy together. We invite and welcome grandchildren and great-grandchildren to all events.
Your Lifestyle
Most people living at Bergmark Villa have greater social needs than medical needs, and our program is developed with that in mind. We celebrate holidays and special events with plenty of good food, decorations and entertainment.
At Bergmark Villa, our activities do much more than keep elders busy. They are designed to build self-worth. Familiar tasks like folding towels, baking or dusting allows the use of skills, and helping others is important.
Individualized special programming promotes a failure-free home for our Villa elders.
Your Faith
You will find a spiritual support here. P.A. Peterson is a program of Lutheran Social Services if Illinois (LSSI). We welcome people of all religions to live here. There is a full-time chaplain here who conducts services and Bible study groups conveniently at the Villa.
